Transforming Leadership Development at LSI Architects with Insights™ Discovery

LSI Architects had been using Insights™ Discovery for several years through a local provider. As part of their Investors in People journey, they decided to trial a new consultant, Newland Partners, to gain a fresh perspective and explore different ways of embedding Insights™ into their culture.

What was the initial challenge?

Senior directors and leaders had previously completed various training programmes with different providers, but the team also wanted to strengthen leadership capabilities across middle managers and ensure that personal development was linked closely to practical leadership skills.

Key considerations included:
• Testing a new consultant to bring different insights and approaches.
• Providing development opportunities for new starters and middle managers.
• Working within realistic timelines to embed training into existing development structures.

What was the solution offered?

Newland Partners, led by Steve Peace, delivered a tailored programme that built upon the organisation’s existing use of Insights™ while introducing new layers of leadership development.

Key elements of the solution included:
• Running Insights™ Discovery sessions for new starters within their first six months.
• Refreshing Insights™ profiles for participants of specific development groups, some of which hadn’t been updated for 10–15 years.
• Linking Insights™ directly to leadership behaviours such as delegation, giving constructive feedback, and adapting leadership style.
• Supporting the establishment of a new Development Centre for middle managers, embedding Insights™ into the curriculum.
• Collaborating on future opportunities, including training staff in teaching methodologies and a second Development Centre cohort in 2026.
Steve’s approach stood out for its adaptability, deep knowledge of Insights™, and ability to connect the model directly to real-world leadership challenges. His sessions were interactive, engaging, and responsive to participants’ needs.

What was the results of the development programme?

The engagement delivered clear, positive outcomes:
High participant engagement: Team members enjoyed the sessions, describing them as insightful, practical, and easy to apply.
Strengthened leadership awareness: Linking Insights™ to leadership gave managers a better understanding of their natural tendencies and how to adapt styles depending on context.
Practical application: Participants recognised that effective leadership often requires flexing behaviours to suit the needs of others, which was a message reinforced through the Insights™ framework.
Positive feedback on delivery: Steve’s approachable, knowledgeable, and flexible style was praised widely. Stakeholders described him as “a really good person to learn from” with a delivery style that “people really enjoyed.”
Ongoing impact: The Insights™ approach is now embedded in induction and leadership development. The organisation has committed to running the Development Centre again in 2026 and continues to work with Steve on future training needs.

Further unexpected benefits included:

• Greater integration of Insights™ into everyday leadership conversations.
• Increased awareness of how personality preferences shape leadership behaviours.
• Stronger engagement across new starters and existing managers through shared learning experiences.

“People really enjoyed it and found it insightful. Steve has a great style of delivery and is adaptable, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable. He makes learning engaging and practical. We wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again.”
